About skyrhúsið

Skyrhúsið is a small and welcoming Hostel that offers all the comfort a traveller will need in a clean, tidy and home environment. Skyrhúsið features eleven rooms which all feature a small washbasin and shared bathroom facilities. Free and fast WI-FI is available throughout the property. We have a small shared kitchen for the most simple cooking, and in our cosy dining, you can enjoy our complimentary hot and cold beverages and mingle with people from all over.

Great location

Located only 10 minutes from Jökulsárlón glacier and with many other major attractions within short driving distance, Skyrhúsið makes an excellent base for exploring South Iceland.

Policies, terms and conditions

Standard rate:

  • The guest can cancel free of charge until 3 days before arrival.
  • The guest will be charged a prepayment of the total amount of 3 days before arrival.
  • After payment has been done the reservation is Non- Refundable.
  • In case of a no-show or late cancellation total amount will be charged.
  • No exceptions are made for unforeseen circumstances.

Perfect for splitting a 2-day South Iceland Trip!

The guest house could not have been more perfect! We were snowmobiling and doing the glacier lagoon the next day, so we wanted to stay somewhere in Southeast Iceland and I’m so glad we found the perfect place! It was a great escape from Reykjavik for a night, and the owners were so kind! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were quaint and clean! I’ll definitely be recommending this property to any friends looking to visit this part of Iceland.

Memorable stay!

We were a family of 4, two adults and two full-grown sons. Since the guesthouse was not fully booked, they were kind enough to allow my boys to stay in a separate room from ours.

I enjoyed meeting other guests over breakfast and chatting with the hostess. Hali is a small place, not large enough to call it a town really. Of the two restaurants nearby, the Museum restaurant was superior.

My favourite place to stay

I really enjoyed staying at this guesthouse. It is so clean and cosy – the free skyr in the fridge in the common area was such a treat! Our room was spacious and the host was incredibly friendly. She even baked one day and left the cakes out for us to help ourselves too. Couldn’t fault it.

Just what we needed.

Small guest house, but big on friendliness. Everything was clean and bright, even though the quarters were snug. There are two restaurants, and it’s very close to the ice lagoon, and that was the most important thing of all, I recommend it. The owner answered all our questions and more.

Location

Located on the farm Hali in South East Iceland. Only a 15 minutes drive from Jökulsárlón glacier and with many major attractions within a short driving distance.

Skyrhúsið makes an excellent base for exploring beautiful South-East Iceland. The natural beauty surrounding the guesthouse is magnificent and will certainly impress anyone.
